I can say from experience hypnotherapy for weight loss does work, i know because i have had it done.

I must admit before I heard a radio broadcast on the BBC with Claire Hegarty who was invited on the show for being an Leading expert in Weight loss hypnotherapy, i would have said to anyone who suggested that i was hypnotized for weight loss, not to be so stupid. But after struggling with my weight for many years and where my weight went upto 22 stone, i listened to the show after becoming despearate and found it very interesting.

I had tried everything to lose weight, i went on loads of diets, i went to my doctor time and time again and he was not interested, i even asked if i could be given a pill that doctors give out for weight loss but he refused so i was now desperate and would have tried anything.

After listening to claire hegarty on the show and listening to what she had to say about hypnotherapy, i decided to contact her, now you have to understand at this time i was still not believing hypnotherapy could help you lose weight but i did want to know more.

She explained all about hypnotherapy and weight loss and how it works to help you lose weight and i was very interested and started to feel maybe their is light at the end of the tunnel, maybe i can get back my ideal weight. I agreed to meet her and after getting on well with her i became her client. And i have to say, that i am so happy that i am now four stone lighter and still losing weight.

So what i have to say to you is, do research by all means into weight loss hypnosis, but it does work and do go to an expert and see the diference it will make to your life as it has made a huge difference to my life but make sure that they are an expert. Just because they do hypnotherapy, it does not mean they are an expert in hypnotherapy weight loss, when making an appointment ask them are they experienced in this and do they have good results.

In order to achieve a healthy body, you must also work on a healthy mind. The mind has the power to control pain, illness and overeating when given the right tools to succeed. Doubt, questioning and a lack of faith in a given weight loss program are all it takes to turn the body into a fat storing machine as opposed to a fat burning machine. Here are 7 important tips for a healthy body and mind.

1. Work within your means. Many people research a new weight loss program and immediately jump into the program with little to no thought about the cost involved. Typically, fad weight loss diets are surrounded with expensive foods and supplements that may aid the user in losing weight but will inevitably drain the pocket. When the program becomes too expensive, other household bills may be left behind in order to pay for the plan and that can cause negative emotions, stress and weight gain. Weight loss does not have to be expensive.

2. Start with a colon-cleanse. Colon cleanse products work to rid the body of built up toxins and waste. If the intestinal system is not working correctly, any new weight-loss program can result in increased hunger from the first day. The body needs certain vitamins and nutrients and with a reduced calorie weight loss plan paired with a sluggish, impacted colon - the body will demand more food to get what it needs.

3. Colon cleanse before and after. Colon-cleanse products do not have to be used throughout the weight-loss plan, but before and after are perfect times. Before starting the diet, colon-cleanse to prepare the body. When you have lost a ton of weight and a plateau has halted the weight-loss in its tracks, try colon-cleanse to lose weight and get things back in moving order.

4. Choose only a proven colon-cleanse product. There are colon-cleanse products out there created with a long list of natural laxatives and diuretics. These may increase weight loss and bowel movements but that does not mean they are working to get rid the body of toxins. Only a proven colon-cleanse product with toxin eliminating ingredients will work with your weight loss plan.

5. Add exercise whenever possible. Exercise is great for losing weight but adding in some activity does not have to mean preparing for a marathon. Exercise can be walking around your home or development or playing tag with your children. Pets make exercise easy as walking them once or twice a day does count and will increase weight-loss.

6. Look at the numbers, on the tape. Weight loss is funny because sometimes the numbers on the scale are standing still but the numbers on the tape measure are moving. The day you start a weight-loss plan or a colon-cleanse, measure areas of the body and note the results. When you are having no loss for a period of days in a row, take the tape measure back out and measure the areas again. You will see a loss even if the scale is being stubborn.

7. Give yourself credit for being you! Weight loss is not supposed to be fast or feel the same for any two given people. Give yourself credit for making healthier choices for your body and your mind even if weight-loss is difficult or nonexistent. Being overweight is not the same as being unhealthy.

Though diet and exercise are certainly important factors in any weight loss plan, a positive attitude is what makes such lifestyle changes possible. As evidence that one's mental state is just as important as physical activity when trying to lose weight, many people have already found that it is much harder to make the lifestyle changes required for weight loss if you don't believe those changes can happen. To help you mentally prepare for a long term weight loss plan, here are a number of tips to get you thinking about how a positive attitude can help you reach your weight loss goals.

1. Set realistic goals for yourself

When you start trying to lose weight, try to remember that you are making a lifelong change. Weight loss results may not come as quickly as you hope sometimes, but try not to overdo it or become discouraged. Rather, focus on short-term goals that you can control - like your daily exercise - and establish more long-term goals for weight loss.

2. Envision your future self

One way to help you focus on your weight loss goals is to think about how you will look and feel when you meet your weight loss target. However, this mental exercise should not make you feel discouraged or unhealthy about your current self. You should simply try to think about the opportunities that a healthy lifestyle will provide you in the long-term.

3. When it comes to exercise, do what you enjoy

As you try to lose weight, you should focus on activities that you enjoy doing, rather than forcing yourself to complete unwanted tasks. If you love the outdoors, consider taking short walks a few times each week, even if it is just to the end of your block and back. If you simply enjoy watching TV or movies, you can view your programs while doing chair exercises or simple bicep curls with light weights. By devoting your energy to activities that you get pleasure from, you will be more likely to remain positive and committed for the long term.

4. Feel confident

Being able to maintain self-confidence is often one of the most important factors affecting the success of weight loss. Hence, you should do your best to think of yourself as a healthy and active person. Remind yourself that each day you remain serious about losing weight will make you look and feel better.

5. Find a friend

Many people considering new weight loss plans don't take action because they simply don't know how or where to begin. To help overcome that road block, consider asking a friend or family member to join you in the journey. By sharing your weight loss goals with another, you will both gain valuable support and motivation.

6. Look for different ways to measure your success

When it comes to losing weight, everyone has different goals and visions of success. Yet, one of the best tips for everyone to follow when trying to measure weight loss success is the most simple: avoid the scale. While you will certainly want to measure your actual weight loss, weighing yourself every day can provide deceptive results and put a damper on your positive attitude. After a few months following a weight loss plan, you might find yourself able to participate in a certain activity that you never thought you could complete or notice your clothing fitting loosely. Use these simple triumphs as markers of success and think about new goals as you go forward.

7. Reward Yourself

Individuals who try to lose weight and fail may feel depressed, frustrated and even guilty or ashamed and may rely on comfort foods as a way to feel better. If you know that Aunt Mary is making your favorite dessert, plan on having a small slice and savor it. Managing your weight and enjoying life should go hand in hand.

3. Set Realistic Weight Loss Goals. To avoid the frustration of failing, don\'t overstress yourself with unrealistic weight loss goals. You gained weight slowly over time and it will take some time to gradually lose that weight. Slow, but sure is the best approach.

4. Choose Healthy Outlets for Emotions. Instead of opening the refrigerator when you\'re upset, how about phoning a friend, or take a walk. Discover something that makes you feel calmer or happier - something other than food or alcohol. Do yoga, dance around your living room, meditate or go out bowling with a friend.

5. Stop Harboring Hurts. Work through issues that are upsetting you. Talk to a therapist or even a friend. Don\'t let hurts, even old wounds or patterns that reach back into your childhood, affect you and your relationship with food.

6. Remember Why You\'re Dieting. It helps to stop and remember why you\'re dieting in the first place. Is it to have more energy, look and feel better, alleviate health problems or increase your self esteem? Keeping the goal in mind is critical to your weight loss success.

7. Use Your Mind to Break the Cycle. The fact is you can do it. It\'s all in your mind - the power to lose the weight rests with you. Believe you can succeed and you will succeed. If you want to put an end to the psychological cycle of weight gain, start by turning all of your negative self talk into positive affirmations. That\'s the best way to break the cycle.

Instead of saying: "Look at that fat belly. It just won\'t go away." Think positive: "Yes, my belly is fat now, but it won\'t always be. I plan to be fit, not fat. I\'m heading to the gym after work today."

Keep your goal in mind at all times. Write down your positive affirmations and put up visual reminders of what you want to attain - that dress you want to buy, that seaside resort you\'re longing to visit this year, or even a picture the happy person you want to be again. It\'s all within reach if you set your mind to it, keep active, exercise, and prepare healthy menus that you enjoy.
